Online Giving Frequently Asked Questions

How do I give online?

  1. Go to www.faithchapel.net
  2. Click on “Give Online Now" from the navigation
  3. Fill in your information and “Create” a login
  4. Your username and password will be emailed to you
  5. Use this information to login and donate via credit card or electronic check

Why should I give online?

  • Keeping track of your contributions is easy.
  • It allows you to give consistently...even when you're not at church.
  • It is convenient for many people who do not carry a checkbook or cash.

Is online giving risky?
Online Giving is less risky than handwritten checks. It cannot be lost, stolen, or destroyed in the mail. It has an extremely high rate of accuracy and is easier for the ministry accounting office to process.

Why do I have to create an account to give online?
Creating an account allows you to have access to your ministry contribution information in a very personal way.

Can I use my debit card or credit card?
Yes, as long as it has a MasterCard or Visa logo (American Express is not supported at this time).

My credit card/ACH transaction was declined or the system won’t process my transaction. What’s wrong?
If you are experiencing problems with our online credit card processing system, please try the following:

  • Our credit card processing company is very particular about addresses matching the credit card. You must be sure to enter your billing address correctly -- it must be the same address that appears on your credit card statement.
  • It is crucial that you enter the credit card information correctly -- everything from the name on the card (be sure it is entered as it is on your credit card) to the credit card number (numbers must match the numbers on your card -- without spaces or dashes) and the CCV number (normally a three digit security number on the back of your card) to the expiration date of your card must be entered correctly or the credit card will not be processed

Without a canceled check, how can I document my contribution?
Your bank statement gives you an itemized list of electronic transfers. It is your proof of contribution. The church will also record your gift and send you a record of your contributions on an annual basis for your tax records.

Do you do anything with my information?
Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

  • To personalize your experience (your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs)
  • To improve our website (we continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you)
  • To improve customer service (your information helps us to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs)
  • To process transactions (Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.)
  • To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature
  • To send periodic emails (The email address you provide for order processing, may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order, in addition to receiving occasional company news, updates, related product or service information, etc.)

Is my contact information freely available on the Internet?
No, your information is available only to other church members who have logged into the Member section

What information can other church members see about me?
No one can view your information, unless, by checking the boxes under My Profile >Personal Preferences, you determine the permissions for others to see your information (We advise that you not give anyone your User Name or Password).

Can I limit what information is shown?
Absolutely. By clicking on “My Profile > My Personal Preferences” you can select exactly what you are sharing with other church members.

Won’t this open me up to spam?
No. Since your data is only available to members of the church, spammers will not be able to access your information.

Is my giving history private?
Absolutely. Only you can see your giving history and only when you have logged in. The server is tested daily to make sure that it is safe from hackers and is protected by 128-bit encryption.

How do I update my information?
If you’ve moved, changed your phone number or e-mail address, you can update your record by clicking “My Complete Profile” and then clicking on the pencil icon.

How often is the information refreshed on Member Connect?
We upload the information daily – before noon.  All change requests are reviewed daily and those that are approved are applied immediately.

Why don’t my contributions look right in My Giving History?
Contributions given on line are posted once a week at this time.  All contributions given between Thursday of one week through midnight of Wed of the next week are posted on Thursday and therefore should be available for viewing on Friday.
