Individual Assistance Approved for Storm Survivors in Two Counties
Governor Robert Bentley on Wednesday received notification that his request for federal assistance for survivors of last week’s severe weather has been approved for two counties.
People in Jefferson and Chilton Counties who would like to apply for individual assistance can contact FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). People can also consult the website www.disasterassistance.gov to register for assistance.

Faith Chapel is partnering with the Christian Service Mission on this Disaster Relief effort. Please see all pertinent information below if you’re interested in volunteering. For your convenience, we’ve added the volunteer form that you’ll need to fill out to assist. Please print, complete this form, and take it with you to the Mission.
Christian Service Mission {CSM}:
- Command Post for all Volunteers: CSM at 3600 3rd Ave South in the Warehouse
- Office Number: 252-9906
- Dates/Times: Monday – Friday between 9am – 4pm
- Type Work: Warehouse, sorting and organizing donated goods
- Clothing: Comfortable, closed toe shoes, FCCC T-shirts if available but not required.
Donation of Goods:
The Christian Service Mission is in urgent need of the following items. You may drop these items off at their above address.
- Trash Bags
- Cleaning Products
- Storage Totes
- Food Items [Can goods and non-perishable items]

City of Clay’s Tornado Recovery Effort
The city of Clay has experienced a huge loss of property and one fatality from a tornado that came through Hickory Hills, Crest Estates, Paradise Valley, Georgebrook, Steeplechase, Rosewood and Twin Lakes subdivisions in the wee hours of January 23. We ask for your prayers and patience as we work through the recovery process.
