As of this week, the federal government shutdown has affected more than 1.4 million federal employees nationwide — leaving many without a paycheck.

An additional 41.7 million people are at risk of losing their SNAP benefits for the month of November.

For families across America, this means missed rent or mortgage payments, delayed utility bills, and uncertainty about how to put food on the table.
